Welcome to the Lu Ban Foundation

The Lu Ban Foundation is focused upon:

  • Supporting all aspects of food education for employers, employees, teachers, lectures, pupils and students
  • Subsidising learning via funds raised from donations and tips* and contributions from the sale of popular dishes at Lu Ban Restaurant in Liverpool, United Kingdom
  • Creating learning content via associates and friends of the foundation to support specialist knowledge
  • Actively promoting and supporting the hospitality sector to help achieve the global target of Net Zero Carbon emissions.

We also believe in the strength of and bonds with our community, so we work hard to create opportunities to help independent businesses or groups.

Visit Lu Ban Restaurant

Your restaurant experience will be a culinary journey of dishes developed from Chef Dave Critchley's time of China and his learnings as apprentice to Tianjin master chef Zhengxi Wu.

As well as savouring the authentic flavours of China, 2.5% of any tip you decide to leave will be donated to The Lu Ban Foundation.

When you order Chinese food from Lu Ban Kitchen for home delivery, you are ordering Lu Ban Restaurant food that has been prepared and cooked according to the same values and respect for Chinese culture and authenticity. The dishes are prepared by chefs in the Lu Ban Restaurant kitchen, chilled then frozen to maintain their freshness, then sent to you by overnight courier with simple to follow instructions on re-heating for eating.
